Juan "Tono" Blas, a cherished family man and beloved member of the Aguadilla community, passed away peacefully in Staten island on January 11, 2025, at the age of 78, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 27, 1949, in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, Tono was known for his warm smile, generous spirit, and the love he had for his family and friends.
Tono spent his life surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Zaida Blas of 58 yrs, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring love story.
Tono, You will always be the hardest goodbye. Save a spot for me in the sky, because when its my time to leave this world and be with you, I'll tell you how hard my life has been without you.
Tono was the proud father of Linda Blas, Betty Rivera, Maria (Charo) Rivera, Diane (nanny) Abraham, and his son, Juan Jr. "Peachy" Blas, who all inherited his strength and kindness. Tono was not only a husband, father, but also a grandfather and great grandfather, whom he adored and treasured every moment spent with them.
Tono's life was marked by his dedication to his family. His happiest moments were those spent in the company of his loved ones, whether it was a quiet evening at home or a lively family gathering. His infectious laughter and storytelling were the heart of every celebration, leaving a legacy of joy and cherished memories.
In his life, Tono was respected for his work ethic and integrity. He was a man who took pride in providing for his family and contributing to his community. After his retirement, he found great pleasure in the simple things in life, like enjoying the beauty of Puerto Rico's sunsets and family time.
For now we say, until we meet again, Tono/ Dad, we take comfort in knowing that your spirit will live on through the lives you touched and the love you gave. We will remember you as a beacon of light and love, a man whose presence was a gift to all who knew you. Tono's legacy will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be held in our hearts forever.
Dad, our superman, you will be dearly missed, your love and the lessons you taught us, will remain as a guiding force in the lives of your family and friends.
Rest in peace, dad; your journey was a beautiful one, your strength inspirational, your story will be told for generations to come.
In our dads famous words, "Thank you for come"
