It is with great sorrow and deep respect that we announce the passing of Mr. Juan Calvillo De La Cruz, who was called to his heavenly home on October 19, 2023, in
Odessa, TX. Born on November 21, 1932, in Aguascalientes Mexico, Juan lived a full and vibrant life, touching the lives of everyone who knew him.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 3:00PM, Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Second Baptist Church with Reverend Kevin Covington Officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews County North Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 5:00PM-8:00pm at McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal Care of McNett Funeral Home.
Juan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Liova E. De La Cruz, and parents, Juan P. and Anastacia De La Cruz. He is survived by his sons, Juan De La Cruz and wife Mary of

Andrews, TX., Daniel De La Cruz and wife Christine of
Midland, TX., Abel De La Cruz and wife Kim of
Andrews, TX. 14 grandchildren: Juan De La Cruz III and wife Sarah, Adrian De La Cruz and wife Stephanie, Simon De la Cruz, Elizabeth De La Cruz, Anthony Mendez, Moses De La Cruz Jr. and wife Liz, David De La Cruz and wife Alpha; Anthony De La Cruz, Liova Mireles and husband Joe, Jessica Figueroa and husband Demetri, Daniel De La Cruz Jr., Adam De La Cruz and wife Kelsey, Abel De La Cruz Jr. and wife Victoria, Ezmeralda Bueno and husband Roger, Alexander De La Cruz and fiancé Reagan, Amber Martin and husband Jeremey, Amanda Gonzales and husband Gilbert, and Tory Rodriguez. And 41 great grandchildren.
Juan was a hardworking man who dedicated many years as a foreman for a gas company. He was intelligent and adventurous, always ready to face any challenges that came his way. His dedication and work ethic were an inspiration and served as a guiding light for his family.
His interests were as diverse as his personality. He was an avid traveler, a baseball enthusiast, and a man of great faith. His love for church and ministry work was a testament to his faith-filled life. Juan had a green thumb and took great pleasure in growing plants. His love for his boys was immeasurable, and his special bond with his grandchildren was truly heartwarming. The joy he found in his Friday night BBQs with his family was infectious, and his love for his dogs was endearing. Juan's life was a testament to his unwavering faith in the Lord. He was a patriotic man who loved his country deeply.
His relationship with his wife, Liova, was one of deep adoration and respect. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with mutual support, laughter, and an unbreakable bond that transcended time.
In his passing, we remember Juan as a man of great intelligence, a sense of adventure, and a faith-filled life.
