Juan Garcia, Jr., 78, of Wharton passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at a Rosenberg care center. He was born on June 19, 1947, in Olmito, Texas to the late Juan Garcia, Jr. and Delfina Zamorano Garcia.
Juan was raised in the Crescent/Glen Flora area and attended Crescent School and El Campo High School. Juan served our country proudly and honorably in the United States Army. He worked as a mechanic for the Western Company and later several years at Wharton ISD as a custodian. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers, a good round of golf, helping others, relaxing at home and later, his lawn business. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Joe Garcia, Felipe Garcia, and Frank Garcia.
Juan is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Hernandez of Wharton, Bonnie Garza of Houston, son, John Garcia and wife, Lori of Wharton, sisters, Maria Elam and husband, Randy, and Maria Llanes and husband, Chris, both of Wharton, brothers, Lionel Garcia and wife, Josie of Wharton, Luis Garcia of Glen Flora and Jesus Garcia of Glen Flora, sisters-in-law, Aurora Garcia of Wharton, Angie Garcia of Glen Flora and Helen Garcia of Rosenberg, grandchildren, Noah Asher Garcia, Alyson Alaniz and John Garza, great grandchildren, Madyson Gonzales, Avery Garza, Mario Jr. Alaniz, Christopher Gonzales and Sophia Alaniz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, after 5pm with a rosary recited at 7pm at Wharton Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be Celebrated on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church with Father Antonio Perez officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving as pallbearers are John Garcia, John Garza, Mario Alaniz, Lionel Garcia Jr., Robert Zambrano, and David Garza.
Funeral services are under the direct supervision of Wharton Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.com.
