Juan Jose Mora-Rios, 25, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday morning, April 26, 2023 in Ogden. He was born on January 11, 1998 to Felisa Rios and Gabino Mora Hernandez in Paramount, California, the younger brother of Gabino Mora Rios. The family moved to Ogden, UT where they were raised together. Juan attended Ben Lomond High School.
He worked as a certified nursing assistant for Wide Horizon Nursing Home for several years and loved his job.
Juan will always be fondly remembered, by his nickname, “Pooh”, and for his golden heart and genuine concern for others. He also had a beautiful sense of humor. He was a noble young man. A true angel. We love and miss you always.
Juan is survived by his mother, Felisa of Ogden; father, Gabino of Jalisco, Mexico; dad, Guillermo Barbosa of Ogden; brother, Gabino (Jennifer Flores) Mora-Rios, Roy; and his beloved son, Damien Noel Mora.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden, UT. Friends may visit with family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Friday from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. at the church.
Cremation care will follow the Mass of Christian Burial.
