Juan Cuesta Ortiz, 73, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025.

Juan was born on January 15, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas. A dedicated husband, father, and brother, Juan spent over 30 years working for BISD, where he left a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike.

He is survived by his children, John Eric Ortiz and Tanya Michelle Ortiz; his brothers, Jesus Ortiz Jr. and Miguel Ortiz and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Blanca Estela Ortiz; sisters, Isabel Ortiz and Eufrosina Contreras.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening.

The family welcomes all who knew and loved Juan to join in celebrating his life.
