Juan Garland Stubblefield, 97, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Mena, Arkansas. He was born on May 9, 1927, to John Calvin Stubblefield and Minnie Lee Crow in Rio Hondo, Texas. He was a man who loved to work and hunt. He could take a huge machine apart and know how to put it back together without instruction. He was a supervisor of the water plant in Los Indios, Texas and after he retired, he enjoyed spending time with his family and hunting. He was also a member and a deacon of New Hope Church in Shady.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Alice Stubblefield, sisters, Gwen Cowley and Dorothy Ethridge. He is survived by his son, James Stubblefield, daughters, Gracey Moss and Sharon Fortson, brothers, James, John, and Larry Stubblefield, sister, Juanita McKethen, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren, along with a host of other family members.
The service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 10:00 am, at New Hope Church with an interment to follow at New Hope Cemetery. Officiating the service will be brother Danny Minton. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stubblefield, James Stubblefield, Joey Moss, Benny Moss, and Billy Moss. A scheduled visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at Beasley Wood Funeral Home.
