Torres, Juan, 65, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 13th, 2024 at Jewish Hospital.
He was a retired Postal Carrier for the United States Postal Service and a proud Army veteran; an avid outdoorsman who loved golfing, hunting and fishing; a man of leisure who enjoyed his bourbon; a world traveler, especially on cruises; and he really loved to win big at the casino. Juan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all who knew him.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Laureano and Juanita Torres; and a brother Jesus Torres.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 41 years, Sheri; daughters, Jessica Platt (Kyle) and Melissa Torres; son, Michael Torres (Katherine); grandchildren, Eleanore Platt, Caroline Platt, Michael Torres, Autumn Torres, and Adam Torres; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Don and Theresa Harvey.
A celebration of life service will be held 7 pm Monday, December 16 at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son Funeral Home, 7336 Southside Drive. Visitation will be 11 am until the time of service Monday at Rattermans.

I could not help but be smiling or laughing around Juan. Just seeing him smile would make me smile! He was one of a kind. I never expected he would go so soon. I really thought there would be more time to visit in the future. Even though we haven´t spoken in a couple of years, I hope he knows how special he was to me. I will always have a smile on my face when I think of him. My heart goes out to him family that he loved so much!
