Ms. Juana Fe Allazas (lovingly known as "Fe" by her family and friends) departed this life peacefully on September 21, 2024 due to complications after a short and sudden hospitalization. While Fe lived in Tallahassee during the last 6 years, she spent most of her life in Pensacola where she immigrated, from the Philippines. A lifelong lover of music, and a teacher of vocal performance and piano, she spent over 50 years as a talented music teacher leaving a lasting impact on her community through her creative work. Because of Fe's dedication and inspiration, her students received countless awards and recognition for their musical performances and presentations. Fe was born in Tiaong, Quezon, Philippines, on June 12, 1940 and she was a graduate of the Immaculate Heart of Mary College, earning a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in voice. Fe's greatest pride was being a student of the renowned Jovita Fuentes, a National Artist for Music in the Philippines. In Pensacola, she offered her musical talents as a pianist and organist at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, as well as Little Flower Catholic Church, where she was also a choir director, Eucharistic Minister, and lector. Throughout her career, she was a member of many organizations pertaining to music: the Florida State Music Teachers Association as an Independent Teacher of Music and The Choral Society of Pensacola, to name a few. Fe was active in the Filipino-American Association of Pensacola, loved to cook Filipino cuisine-her favorite dish being chicken adobo; enjoyed gardening, attending bible study, and spending time with family and friends. Fe was known for her thoughtfulness in remembering birthdays, kindness, generosity, and support for those around her.
Fe was preceded in death by her parents Marciano and Expedita Allazas. She is survived by her family in Tallahassee-an uncle, Amadeo Escueta; and cousins Theresa Estrera (Woody Estrera), Arthur Escueta, and Rachel Escueta both from Nashville, Tennessee; grandnieces Regina, Allison, and grandnephew Jake. Additionally, she is also survived by the loving Corpuz family-Albert, Norie, Jasmine, Jessica, Jason, Jenna, and Jamie-all of whom she "adopted" as her own family, and her extended family of close friends in Pensacola.
Fe was a strong woman of faith and a parishioner at Little Flower Catholic Church until she moved to Tallahassee to be closer to her family. Services will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, located on 6495 Lillian Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32506, on Saturday, October 5, 2024. A Rosary will be offered at 9:30 a.m. The visitation will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, located at 1300 E. Hayes Street, Pensacola, Florida 32503.
Fe was 84, and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and community.
