Nita was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on October 12, 1948 to the late Robert and Geneva (McClellan) Pedigo. Nita was married to William O. Barnard on February 22, 1969 in Otterbein, Indiana, and he preceded her in passing on February 10, 2000.
Nita worked at Don Scharer Masonry as a construction worker, and she also worked as a bartender.
Nita enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as watching westerns.
Nita is survived by her daughter Abbi Howard; sister, Patricia Stinnett; nieces and nephews: Mark Grammer, Missy Wright, Terry DeLong, Kristina Harmeson, Krystal Reynolds, Kayla Howard, Shayann DeLong, Ashlynn Harmeson, Branon Harmeson, Jalen Harmeson, Anais DeLong, Tristyn DeLong, Lindsay Terry, Sammy Grammer and Zoe Grammer; as well as numerous great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, William, Nita was preceded in passing by her sister, Sue Grammar.
Visitation will be held from 5pm – 8pm Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Hippensteel Funeral home. Funeral service will begin at 10am Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the funeral home.
