Richard "Dick" Arlen Maxwell, 84, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at his residence. He was born on July 2, 1940 in Lafayette to the late James and Vera (Cain) Maxwell.
Dick graduated from West Lafayette High School, and then went on to be a truck driver, which he did for 30 years before retiring. On June 27, 1959, he was married to Beverly Wiegand at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette, and she survives.
Dick spent any opportunity that he had to go golfing. He also enjoyed traveling with Beverly, especially to Las Vegas. He was also a fan of Purdue football and basketball, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to his wife, Beverly Maxwell, Dick is survived by his children, Debra (Ryan) Turner, Bryan (Rene) Maxwell, and Christina (Patrick) Marheine; and sister, Karen Maxwell. He also leaves six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Glover.
Private family services will be held at a later date, and Dick will be laid to rest at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Contributions please be made to The American Cancer Society.
