Juanita Alma Cantrell Morgan, 97, of Marietta, went to her heavenly home
August 22, 2025. An Atlanta native, she was born February 25, 1928
to the late Winter "Wint" and Alma Leathers Cantrell and she remained in
Cobb County until her passing. She was the youngest of six children,
a graduate of West Fulton High School, class of 1945, and member of
Powder Springs Baptist Church,Powder Springs.
Juanita was dedicated, determined, and was always dependable to her
family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-
grandmother. Juanita was the beloved wife of 35 years to her late husband,
Edward Lamar Morgan, whom she loved and adored until his passing in 1981.
Sheremained an active member and was involved in his U.S. Army 444th
Bomb Squadron of WWII.
Juanita spent many years as a homemaker working as a bookkeeper from
home (before that was a thing!) With a love for politics, she never missed
an opportunity to vote from the time she turned 18 years old and she then
enjoyed working the polls for many years. Those who will remain grateful
for having shared in Juanita's life are her loving daughter, Pam Scott (Walker);
her cherished grandchildren; Katie Florczyk (Rich), and Kristy Smith;
and her cherished great grandchildren,Paige (Tyler), Matthew, Courtney,
McKenzie, and Mason, who all lovingly called her "Nina".
She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband,
and her infant son, Eddie.
The family will welcome friends and family at Carmichael Funeral Home,
Marietta on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 2-4 PM.
