Sean Michael Alpeter

Sean Michael Alpeter, 55, of Kennesaw and the Greater Atlanta, Georgia area since 1992, formerly of Troy, Michigan, a Michigan State University graduate, died August 21, 2025. He was born November 14, 1969, in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Mr. Alpeter was an accomplished leader in the field of corporate security, fraud, organized retail crime and investigations. He was a Certified Fraud Investigator with multiple awards and honors including recognition from multiple organizations including the International Association of Financial Crimes and Credit Card Investigators, the American Management Association, U.S. Customs Service, U.S. Secret Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and multiple local law enforcement agencies.
Mr. Alpeter worked Equifax for the past 13+ years, serving in multiple leadership positions including Lead Investigator and Senior Director of Global Security Fraud Investigations and Monitoring. Within the corporate security industry he previously worked for Target, Prudential Bank and Trust, Circuit City and Macy's.
Mr. Alpeter loved to hunt game including deer, bear, boar, and buffalo.
Mr. Alpeter was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Donald Alpeter, of Troy, Michigan. (January 8, 1994).
Survivors include his mother, Susan K. Alpeter, Enterprise, AL, formerly of Troy/Macomb Michigan; his brother, Scott R. Alpeter (Diane), of Enterprise, AL; a niece, Kelsey A. Hamilton (Tyler Jay), of Enterprise AL; a nephew, Christopher S. Alpeter (Rebecca), of Lexington Park, Md.; and two great nephews, Wyatt J. Hamilton of Enterprise, AL and Andrew J. Alpeter of Lexington Park, Md.; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, dedicated hunting buddies, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 22 at 11:30 (EDT) at Carmichael Funeral Home, 1130 Whitlock Ave., Marietta, Georgia. The service will be live streamed on the Carmichael Funeral home Facebook Page and also on the Funeral Home Website. www,carmichaelcares.com
