Juanita Ernestine Duncan, 89, passed away Wednesday, March 5,2025 in Las Vegas Nevada. She was born at home in Marion County, Florida on May 30,1935 to Smith Ernest Colbert and Lula Madeline Ray Colbert. She married Everett Andrew Duncan in Tampa, Florida October 24, 1954. They later divorced.

Juanita was raised in Florida and lived in Alabama, San Salvador Island in the Bahamas, New Mexico, Washington State, California and Utah. The last 20+ years were spent in Boulder City. She was a telephone operator, a school bus driver and a bookkeeper, but she always said she was “addicted to buying and selling houses.” She became a real estate agent, then became a broker and had an office in Heber City, Utah when not many women owned their own businesses. She never quite retired and managed her properties in Boulder City until her death.

Her real love was her family. Growing up with much older parents and sisters, Juanita often felt like a lonely only child. Her parents were estranged from their families, so she never had extended family experiences either. Doing things with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the highlight of her life. She was often teased about her FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out,) as she always wanted to be included in every family activity.

She enjoyed the ocean, swimming, boating, reading, playing the organ, sewing, cross-stitching and having “tea” parties and holiday get-togethers for the grand- and great-grandchildren. She was very thrifty, but extremely generous to those she loved and those in need.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sargeant (Jeff) of Boulder City and her son David Duncan (Karen) of Orem, Utah. Grandchildren include David Sargeant, Albuquerque, NM; Allyson Sargeant (Ryan Bandics,) Henderson, NV; Brian Sargeant (Susan,) Boulder City; Amy Limon (Tyler Moses,) Provo, UT; Madison Anderson (Jeremy,) Spanish Fork, UT; Lauron Stoddard (Rachel,) Ripon, CA; Angel Duncan (Nicholas Post,) Nampa, ID; Nathaniel Wilson (Lindy Esseltine,) Boulder City; Elisabeth Boothe (Jared,) Portland, OR; Stephen Duncan, Springfield, VA and Jacob Duncan, Orem, UT. Juanita also had 25 great- grandchildren, with two more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Winona Elizabeth Jenkins (Wilbert) and Arline Marion Weston (George) and her son, Everett Andrew Duncan, Jr.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 17, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, 916 5th St., Boulder City, NV 89005. Viewing will be at 10am with services to follow at 11am. Interment will be at the Boulder City Cemetery. We invite family and friends to leave condolences or memories at www.starmortuary.com.
