Juanita Marie Frazier was born in Richmond, Virginia on July 2, 1964, to the late Shirley Augusta Frazier Sr. and Evelyn Celestine Tyler of Williamsburg, VA. On Monday, December 2, 2024, Juanita, known as "Mikey" or " Nana", to her grandchildren entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
Juanita attended Bruton High School in Williamsburg, Virginia, graduating with the class of 1983.
Juanita made a career as a postal worker after relocating to her husband's hometown of New York City to raise her children upon early retirement. She attended college for medical billing and coding as well as medical assistant. She was the definition of a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family and caring for her grandkids. She enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, being a nail tech, and loc technician. She dedicated her life to her family and friends, always offering a helping hand. She will be deeply missed by everyone!
She is survived by her husband Justin Hymes; children, Franklin King, Martin King, Keiara Frazier, Nefertiti Hymes, and Kareem Hymes; sixteen grandchildren; five siblings; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will continue to honor her memory and carry forward her spirit of love and kindness.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 2:00 p.m.
