Juanita was born on December 4, 1939, to the late David and Gertrude Britt of Louisville. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister for her family. Juanita was a member of St Peter the Episcopal Church. She loved to go shopping, play sudoku, eat out with family, travel, ceramics and go square dancing with her late husband.
Preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Gerald Mitchell.
Survived by her four children Gerald Mitchell Jr. (Kathy), John Mitchell, Keith Mitchell (Amanda) and Michelle Beckmann (Larry); six grandchildren Ashley Erkkila (Kevin), Austin LaSelva, Keith Mitchell, Jacob Mitchell, Alexa Henry and Leo Mitchell; sister Marlene Wathen (Jim), sister-in-law Carol Britt; other in-laws include Claudia Woolley (Buddy), Richard Mitchell (Sue), Debbie Cobb (Roger) and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 15, 2024, at 6:00pm Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Foundation.
