Juanita Gentry Norton, 75, of Dandridge, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 28, 2025.
Juanita was born to George and Ethel Gentry and grew up in Spring Creek, NC. She was one of 12 children and grew up in a home where love was abundant and family meant everything. After graduating from Spring Creek High School, she married the love of her life Harvey Norton on May 27, 1967. This would be the beginning of a lifetime of wonderful memories. In their 58 years of marriage, she set an example of what a wife and mother is, she was nothing short of amazing. She was so proud of her children Charlene and Tim. If you were having a conversation with her, she was telling you all about them. Her kids were her world. She spent all their early years at the ballfield and basketball court and was their biggest fan. She followed them through all their walks in life. In 1993, she welcomed another son, Charley, when he married Charlene. She loved him exactly the same and was proud of him too. Her greatest role would be in 2005 when she and Harvey welcomed their first grandchild Max. In 2009, came Jenni Marie and her heart was filled with precious memories of these babies. She was a role model, mentor, and taught them what true unconditional love looked like. She was so proud of them and a fierce supporter of everything they did. She loved her family beyond measure. She touched so many lives from co-workers to friends and especially family. She was a mother to all. In addition to taking care of everyone, she enjoyed taking care of her flowers, playing softball, and taking vacations to the beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ethel Gentry; a daughter, Michelle Lee Norton; two sisters, Patricia Jeanette Gentry and Geneva Snelson; three brothers, Gene Gentry, Sherrill Gentry, and Ken Gentry.
Juanita leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Harvey Norton; daughter, Charlene (Charley) Davis; son, Tim Norton; grandchildren, Max and Jenni Marie Davis; sisters, Kathy (Gary) Frisbee and Sue Gentry; brothers, Harold "Cotton"
Gentry, Colin (Diane) Gentry, Phil (Louise) Gentry, and Curtis (Priscilla) Gentry; sister-in-law, Rita Norton; special family member, Lora Mae Norton; and an abundance of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 2, 2025 in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Services with the service to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Wallin Cemetery in the Revere Community after the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Diane Meadows, 34 West Rd., Hot Springs, NC 28743.
