Juanita Marie Rastall, age 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on September 25, 2025, in Peoria, Arizona. Born on September 20, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, Juanita lived a long and fulfilling life rooted in faith, family, and love.
After graduating from Wausaukee High School in 1949, Juanita pursued a career in cosmetology. She worked professionally in the field until her marriage to Richard Rastall in 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Walsh. Though she stepped away from full-time work after marrying, she continued to cut, color, and perm hair for family and friends for many years. Her skill and care were appreciated by those close to her.
Juanita's life was deeply centered around her family. She and Richard shared 56 devoted years of marriage before his passing. Together they raised seven children:
Denise (Jeff) Gressick and their children: Natalie (Dave) Schuiteman, Anthony (Nicole) Gressick, Melissa (Ben) Cohn.
Dean (Teresa) Rastall and their children: Jason (Becky) Rastall, Ashely (Chad) Visintin, Jeremy (Christina) Renz, and Danielle Adams.
Lynne (Patrick) Ramsey and their children: Thomas, Holly, Jacob (Arielle), and Jodie Ramsey.
Mark Rastall (Lauri Zavada).
Philip Rastall (Tina Ramirez) and his children: Reyna Garza, Autumn and Alex Rastall.
Wade (Nancy) Rastall and their children: Carrie Longsdorf, Jordan Rastall (Matthew Billings), Austin Rastall (Isabella Noyes).
Joanne (John) Moerbitz and their children: Samuel, Hailey and Benjamin Moerbitz.
Great grandkids: Ruby and Violet Schuiteman, Ava Gressick, Alice and Emma Cohn, Cooper Rossenbach, Jordyn and Jaxen Renz, Ella and Trent Klitzke, Violet Ramsey, Magnolia, Luke and Beau Ramsey.
A woman of many talents and interests, Juanita found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She maintained a large garden that provided fresh produce she would can to last through the winter months. Her apple trees were a particular source of pride-especially when she used them to bake apple crisp or Richard's favorite dessert: homemade apple pie. After Richard's retirement in 1989, they enjoyed traveling to Arizona to spend winters near their daughter Lynne and her family.
Juanita had a remarkably strong work ethic - she would do much of the work on the farm while maintaining her home. Sewing was another of Juanita's gifts, and she also enjoyed card games and puzzles, often sharing these pastimes with her grandkids. But above all else, Juanita treasured time spent with her family. She faithfully attended every activity involving her seven children and later extended that same devotion to her grandchildren. She loved shopping with her daughters, especially for clothes. The older grandkids fondly remember camping trips with Grandma and Grandpa-special adventures that provided great memories for a lifetime-while the younger ones were blessed with her undivided attention as they grew.
Juanita's Catholic faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was an active member of St. Joseph Church in Walsh, participating in women's groups and generously baking for church events. Even while traveling on vacation with Richard, they made it a point to attend Sunday services wherever they were-a testament to their shared devotion.
Juanita is also survived by a sister-in-law, Joan (Alvin) Teixiera, sister-in-law Anna Rastall, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard, her parents Fred and Melinda Trumble, her three brothers: Robert, William, and Harold Trumble, and an infant sister.
Juanita will be remembered for the warmth she brought into every room, the strength of her convictions, and the unwavering love she gave to those around her. While she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, there is comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with Richard-the love of her life.
We pray that Juanita's memory continues to bring peace and joy to those who loved her so dearly. A Funeral Service will be held on October 11, 2025 at SS Joseph and Edward Catholic Church, W3308 County Road G in Walsh. Funeral service time is to be determined.
