Juanita Ross Obituary

Juanita Joyce Ross of Pleasanton passed away at her residence on Monday, October 13, 2025. She was born on Wednesday, February 26, 1941 in Marshall to Harry G. and Beulah Faye (McKinney) Donovan.

In Honor of Our Mom

We can truly say that Mom was so full of love. She gave love freely and showed it in everything she did for our family.

We didn't have a lot growing up, but Mom always made sure Christmas was magical. She loved giving gifts and took joy in seeing the tree surrounded by plenty of them - more than enough for all six of us: five daughters and one son.

We remember sitting down for family dinners - and we'd better finish everything on our plates! We didn't always enjoy what was served (especially liver, and sometimes wild boar, rabbit, or even frog legs), along with vegetables from our garden. We can still picture our brother gagging at something he couldn't eat - it's kind of funny now, looking back.

Mom's laughter was remarkable, it stood out and filled a room. It's one of the things we'll always remember and miss the most.

She loved taking "girl trips" to Port Aransas, Rockport, and Corpus. She always invited anyone who could get away, and those trips brought us so much joy. She loved shopping for souvenirs, enjoying a good meal, and just spending time laughing with us. We cherish those funny and entertaining memories.

She loved her grandchildren dearly and always wanted them to visit. And don't even think about leaving without giving her a kiss, or you'd definitely hear about it!

Mom will be missed so very much. But her love, so generous and unwavering, and her unforgettable laughter will live on in our hearts forever.

Juanita is survived by her children, Laurie Ross, Mark Ross and wife Brenda, Becky Dunsirn and husband Eddie, Mona Ross, Maggie Stobbs, Lillie Spates and husband John; and grandchildren, Randy Kosler, Kimberly Kosler, Marty Ross and wife Lynisa, Matthew Ross and wife Corrie, Cody Lawson, Hunter Dunsirn and wife Amanda, Jessica Joyner, Joshua Stuart, Jeffrey Stuart, Colton Stobbs, Dillon Stobbs and wife Kara, Brittany Berdeaux and husband Quinton, and Ben Spates. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Leila, Monty, Rowdy, Aron, Jenny, Kaydin, Maddie, Finley, Lilliana and Olivia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 67 years, Marvin James Ross; parents, Harry and Beulah Donovan; son -in-law, Dwayne Stobbs; granddaughter, Callie Spates; and sisters Nona Ferguson and Mary Lambert.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Hurley Funeral Home with visitation starting at 11:00 am followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Juanita and her husband, Marvin James will be interred together in Oak Island Cemetery.
