Ms. Juanita Yvonne Young

Our beloved Juanita Yvonne Young, born on March 1, 1977, in Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at the age of 48.

Juanita lived a life full of love, creativity, and service. She had a passion for dining out and exploring new restaurants, as well as sewing and baking, which brought joy to those around her. An entrepreneur at heart, she ventured into various businesses with determination and vision.

Faith played an important role in her life as a devoted member of New Light Baptist Church. She found her true calling in education as a homeschool teacher, which was her greatest passion. Professionally, she worked for a number of years as a histology technician, where she was known for her precision and dedication.

Juanita was admired for her love of order and organization, qualities that carried through every aspect of her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Valerie Crawford, and her brothers, Xavier Young and Brett Crawford. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Thompson.

Though she never married or had children, Juanita's life touched the hearts of her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Her memory will forever be cherished.
