Jude Abadie Jordan

Jude "Judy" Abadie Jordan, born July 12, 1940, passed away from lymphoma at her home in Metairie on the morning of May 6, 2025. She was 84. Judy was a lifelong practicing Catholic and a woman of tremendous faith in God and Saint Jude. She was also a contributing member to the Shrine for the Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos. Judy was born in New Orleans and raised in the French Quarter. She attended high school at Holy Angels and later graduated from Annunciation in 1958. Judy attended mass regularly at the Saint Louis Cathedral and later the Immaculate Conception Church when she worked downtown as a book-keeper for First NBC Bank. After getting married in 1963, and later moving to Jefferson Parish, Judy became a housewife and homemaker for her three children. She enjoyed gardening, reading the newspaper, cooking, doing word-search puzzles, and watching classic Western T.V. shows. Judy is preceded in death by her father, Alphonse Abadie, mother, Esther Abadie, and husband, Pedro Jordan. She is survived by her sister, Maria Hattier (Patrick), brother, Arthur Abadie (Joanne), and three children, Peter Jordan, Stephanie Jordan, and Aaron Jordan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, with a Mass starting at 11:30 am. Inurnment will follow after services in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Judy asked that contributions be made to the Shrine for the Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, the restoration and upkeep of the Saint Louis Cathedral, or have Catholic masses said on her behalf.
