Jude Ritchie Obituary
Jude Ballard Ritchie, 63, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 5, 1962, in Bardstown, Kentucky, Jude was the son of the late William and Sue Ritchie.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Debra, and his two sons, Will and Luke.
He built a successful career as a real estate businessman in the Lexington area, where he was known for his sharp business creativity. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan, never missing a chance to tailgate with friends and family. He also loved traveling in his RV, exploring the beautiful landscapes across the country, often on camping trips filled with laughter and quality time with family.
His famous quote summed up his outlook perfectly: "Every day's a holiday and Saturday is Christmas Eve!" - a reminder to celebrate life every single day.
As a lifelong Catholic, Jude's positivity made an impact on his family and friends' lives, and he will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to Jude's heart, to support their mission of advancing cures for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Rest in peace, Jude.

I am so sorry for your loss. I never met Jude, but I knew him through my son, Chris Hyme. Jude was a good, kind friend to my son. The times I spoke with Jude, he was always helpful and understanding, truly a good soul. My son and I will carry a piece of him in our hearts. I pray for comfort and peace for the family.
