Judy Alford, age 84 of Oconto Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Meadowbrook of Oconto Falls with her family by side. Judy was born on November 24, 1939 in Shawano, WI. to the late Fred and Margaret (Jensen) Bartelt.
She married Gerald Otto in 1960. They had two daughters, Tami and Tina. In 1977 she married Ralph Alford. They had one daughter, Hamby.
Judy was very active in her community for many years. She belonged to several clubs and organizations for which she did a lot of volunteer work, including the Shawano County 4-H and fair, the Gillett fair, the Legion Auxiliary post #300 of Gillett, and Meals on Wheels. She loved her cats, gardening, fishing, arts and crafts, and sewing.
Judy is survived by her three daughters, Tami (Mike Bergner) Pedersen, Tina (James) Gipp, and Hamby (Chub) Alford; six grandchildren, Chris (Tanya) Otto, Jesse Bergner, Heather Bergner, Shannon Elertson, Jereme Gipp, and Ashley (Dustin) Deyo; eleven great grandchildren, Joel, Ashton, Tiara, Landon, Shelby, Karissa, Kara, Brayden, Hunter, Bow, and Sage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret Bartelt; her brother, Tom Bartelt; two sons-in-law, James Gipp and Mike Bergner; ex-husband, Gerald Otto.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to the nurses, med techs, and CNAs of Meadowbrook of Oconto Falls who helped care for our Ma during her stay there.
A memorial service will be held for Judy in the future. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.gruetzmacherfuneralhome.com.
