Judith “Judy” Bennett passed away on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her closest family. She was the oldest of eight children born to Clarence and Leona Messenger of West Virginia. Judy lived 84 years filled with warmth, strength, and the kind of quiet beauty that touched everyone who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bennett; daughters, Annette and Marrita Bennett; sons, Bud Myers, Jack Jr., Stanley, and Dale Bennett; brothers, Charles and Louis Messenger; and sisters, Norma Jean Williams (“Sis”), Sharon Carder, and Shirley Freeland.
Judy is survived by her sisters, Linda Hall, Janet Brasselle, and Debbie Messenger; daughters, Michelle Hailey (Stacey) and Tammy Starkey (Josh); son, Donald Myers (Esther); 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her best friend, Faye Gainer; and countless friends she gained over the years.
Judy was always willing and wanting to take care of the ones she cared about. She believed in morals, priorities, and accountability. She also found beauty in the little things in life, such as “her” hummingbirds, flowers, and simply feeling the breeze while she sat on her porch with a cup of tea. The legacy that Judy leaves is one of kindness, shown through the values she instilled in those she leaves behind.
Honoring Judy’s last wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
