Newcomer Funeral Home - AkronWilliam Lee “Bill” Miller, age 73, of New Franklin, passed away in his childhood home on August 15, 2025. He was born on October 17, 1951, to the late William C. Miller and Maisie Lee (Wix) Miller in Akron, Ohio. Bill grew up in Manchester and attended Manchester schools, graduating in 1969 before continuing his education at Kent State University.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Bill began working at age 15 at Montgomery Ward. By 17, he was managing the shipping and receiving department at City Hospital. His career path later led him to Barberton Brass, Barefoot Sole, and ultimately to Gerstenslager Co., where he devoted more than 24 years before retiring in 2013.
Bill married the love of his life, Lynna (Jones) Miller, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories over their 35 beautiful years together.
If you liked Bill, you couldn’t help but love him — and he loved you back. His humor, infectious laugh, and mischievous nature left lasting memories with everyone he met. Always ready with a joke or a prank, he also carried a deep and unwavering love for his family and friends. He had a lifelong passion for American history, was a true animal lover, and found peace in the great outdoors.
He was a devoted husband, a proud and loving dad and grandpa, and he never missed an opportunity to remind his family how proud he was of them.
Bill found great comfort in welcoming God into his heart, and he often shared with loved ones how grateful he was to have found that peace.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynna; children, Crystal Evans, Angela Hull, and Erin (Dan) Sensius; grandchildren, Joel Hull, Evan and Ethan Cefalo, Daniel and Aubrey Sensius; mother-in-law, Virginia Jones; sister-in-law, Kathy Barnett; brothers-in-law, James (Diane) Jones and John (Karla) Jones; adopted son, Randy Meyers and family; one niece; and four nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kemper Jones, and his nephew, Jared Jones.
