Obituary of Judith Williams Boss
In the early morning of August 9th, Judy Williams Boss of Granbury, TX passed away. In loving memory, we recount that she was born on January 18, 1941 in St. Louis, MO as the first child of Helen Ross Williams and John B. Williams III. Her early childhood was spent on a farm in Mexico, MO after which the family relocated to the nearby town of Fulton. Surrounded by love, the memories Judy had of living there with her grandparents were her fondest.
After graduating from Fulton HS, she attended the University of Missouri for a year. She then deferred her college education to marry and start a family. By 1970, she was a single mom and admirably spent the next several years in Ft. Worth, TX completing her nursing degree while working and raising her two daughters alone.
Through church, Girl Scouts and the modeling of her mother and grandmother, she had grown to love serving others. Volunteering was a lifelong passion. Nursing was a natural fit for Judy and she loved her career to the point she became a Parish Nurse in retirement. A champion and prolific knitter, she put love into the countless gifts she knitted for others. Always active in the Disciples of Christ church and often involved with its regional administration, Judy was a devoted member of First Christian Church in Granbury. As a third generation PEO, she belonged to multiple chapters over a span of 64 years. She was also a member of the Daughters of Abraham.
Of all the ways she identified herself though, being a grandmother ("Gamma") was what she cherished most.
She is survived by her daughters Cindy Hamady and Laura Stewart (Jim). Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren: Helen Hamady (Ali Fawaz), Grant Apodaca, Sarah Apodaca, Michael Hamady, Zoe Stewart, Zane Stewart, Rachel Stewart, her great grandson Noah Fawaz, and her sister Annie Pat Jaech.
Her family wishes to especially thank our mother's ministers and faithful friends at FCC Granbury for the myriad of kind, patient and helpful ways they showed up through her lengthy illness.
We will all miss her fun sense of humor, generous giving heart and bright infectious smile.

My first memory of Judy is recess at East school. We would get up a soft ball game. Then there were afternoon visits at her house. Our high school years were so much fun and we have held together as a class all these many years.
My lasting memories of Judy will he these final years in Granbury. I have gone often to visit and enjoy her gift of laughter and joy even in the midst of suffering from Parkinson´s. Judy was a true friend. May she rest in the peace of God´s love! Agnes Ann (Cuthbertson) Gladbach
