Judith Ann Brewer, age 85, of Hillsdale, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the Maple Law Skilled Nursing Facility in Coldwater. She was born on February 13, 1940, in Kalamazoo, to Bertram and Kathryn (Lillis) Lown. She married William Brewer on May 16, 1959, and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2024.
Judy graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1958 and went on to work at BorgWarner in Coldwater and later worked in the Branch and Hillsdale Health Department office for 10 years. Judy took on the full-time role of being a mother and a homemaker, her six children keeping her very busy. In her free time, she loved sewing, reading and gardening, but her main love was for her family.
Judy is survived by six children, Teresa Brewer of Quincy, Lori (Randall) Marquart of Union City, Kelli (Derek) Rohloff of Grass Lake, Jodi (Thomas) Coco of Quincy, Joni Brewer of Angola, and William "Bill" (Drew Engel) Brewer of Cincinnati, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Ryan (Mari-Lynn), Tara (Jonathon), Grant (Haleigh), Evann (Taylor), Elyse (Jake), Cassandra (Nic), Jamie (Kyle), Rob (Justin), Brett (Olivia), and Collin (Haley); sixteen great-grandchildren, Kolton, Jace, McKensy, Harvey, Letti, Billie, Silas, Zoe, Sullivan, Rosario, Jaxon, Brielle, Hudson, Ollin, Gracelynn, and Thomas; and three siblings, Janet (Tim) Eslow, Thomas (Cindy) Lown, and Rick (Ann) Lown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Bill; and five siblings, Margaret Benoit, Carol Simms, Nancy Bolling, Kathleen Paradine, and David Lown.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Judy Brewer will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Tim McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County. Arrangements have been entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
