West Oneonta
Judy Briscoe, 82, of West Oneonta, lovingly remembered for her youthful spirit, adventurous soul, and unwavering love for her family, passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and deep connection.
Born Judy Graves, she was raised by her devoted parents, Harry and Marion Graves, in a close and loving family. Judy grew up surrounded by strong family values that shaped the woman she would become-compassionate, forgiving, and deeply devoted to those she loved. In her early years, she shared a special bond with her younger sister, Tammy, and during that time their families were closely intertwined. Those years were marked by shared experiences and a sense of extended family that created many cherished memories.
Judy was a proud and devoted mother of three children-Debbie, David, and Charlie-who were truly the center of her world. She was a loving homemaker who created a warm, joyful home filled with laughter, fun, and unconditional support. Her children often describe their upbringing as something special-rooted in stability, love, and a mother who was always present, endlessly forgiving, and fiercely supportive.
The bond Judy fostered among her children is one of her greatest legacies. Their closeness, mutual respect, and deep love for one another stand as a reflection of her influence. Each of them carries a piece of Judy within them-her kindness, her warmth, her strength, and her ability to love without judgment.
Judy found lasting love with her husband, William Briscoe, with whom she shared many happy years. Together, they embraced life fully-snowmobiling up north, traveling, riding motorcycles, and exploring the open road in their motorhome. Judy was adventurous and charismatic, always smiling, always ready for the next experience, and she approached life with joy and enthusiasm.
Earlier in life, Judy worked alongside her father, Harry Graves, at KuntrySet Kitchens, a family business that held special meaning to her. More than a place of work, it was where Judy and her father shared a close and enduring bond-built on trust, mutual respect, and time spent side by side. That relationship deeply influenced Judy's strong work ethic and lifelong appreciation for family. In her later years, Judy worked in the insurance field and spent many years with Mang Insurance, where she eventually retired.
Known for her unmistakable sense of style, Judy was always cool, hip, and young at heart. She loved beautiful cars-from Cadillacs to Camaros and classic muscle cars-and connected easily with people of all ages. She was the most nonjudgmental person many had ever known, welcoming others with an open heart and loving freely and without condition.
Above all else, Judy was known for her heart. Her laugh was contagious, her smile unforgettable, and her presence comforting. She had a deep love for music-especially Elvis-and every familiar song will now carry her memory.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Marion Graves, and her sister, Tammy Luchetta.
She is survived by her husband, William Briscoe; her children, Debbie Rathbun, David Baldo (Kelly Tolley), and Charlie Baldo (Carrie Baldo); her grandchildren, Jennifer Cullen (Shawn Cullen), Shane Quackenbush, Tanya Baldo, Jordan Tolley, David Baldo, Jr. (DJ), Kevin Baldo (Rachel Derrickson), Jaeden Kirby, Noah Baldo, and Sierra Baldo; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Ruple, Kaylee Cullen, Camden Bates, Treyson Tolley, and Xavier Robinson; and her great-great-grandson, Grayson Ruple. She also leaves behind many extended family members, including her nieces Tennille, Laurie, Karen, and Pattie, who held a special place in her heart
