Judith Bulva Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 4, 2026.
Judith G. Bulva, affectionately known to all as Judy, departed this life on January 18, 2026, while under the compassionate care of Moses Caregivers. Born in East Chicago, Indiana, on April 18, 1943, Judy faced her final challenges with the same grace and persistence that defined her eighty-two years.

On May 25, 1963, she married James W. Bulva, beginning a partnership that would become the cornerstone of her life. While Judy enjoyed a career at South Haven Pharmacy where she eventually retired, she always considered her primary role to be that of a devoted wife and mother. She was a woman of complete selflessness who consistently placed the needs of others before her own. Known for her loyalty, honesty, and skills as an excellent bookkeeper, Judy was the rock and leader of her family. She ruled the roost.

Her interests were vast and often centered around whatever her husband or sons wanted to do; mainly sport. She was the ultimate "Little League Mom," dedicating several years to running the concession stand for the South Haven Little League and watching her boy's play. Beyond the ballfield, Judy was incredibly creative and active. She enjoyed bowling, needlepointing, mirror etching, macrame, and flower arranging. She also found joy in playing computer games, Bunko, and Bingo. Her social life was vibrant, highlighted by her cherished Thursday breakfasts with the ladies.

A woman of faith, Judy was a member of the Seven Dolors Shrine Catholic Church. She walked through life with a Christian heart, serving her community and family with love and dedication.

Judy leaves behind a legacy of love through her four sons and daughter: Thomas C. Bulva, Timothy J. Bulva, Paul A. Bulva, James Bulva and Laura Snow. As well as 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She has now been reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, James W. Bulva, who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents' Kenneth Ellis and Naomi Schwartz Ellis, her sisters Kathy Schwartz Gaskey and Gerri Schwartz Bradley, and her brother Kenneth Ellis.

A private service has been held for the immediate family. A Celebration of Life party is being planned for this summer, and the family will reach out to friends and loved ones with the specific date, time, and location.

Please leave condolences at www.LakeviewFHC.com.

Judy held a special place in her heart for the song "Chances Are," and she sang it all the way until she rejoined the love of her life.
