Judith Ann Griffin, 84, Passed Away on December 11, 2025

Judith Ann Griffin, 84, a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud Army Veteran, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025.

Judy was the beloved wife of the late David Francis Griffin, with whom she shared 27 years of marriage.

Born in San Diego, CA, Judy was the daughter of the late Oliver "Jack" and Collette Holt. She proudly served her country in the Army, where she met her future husband, David, on a softball field at Ft. Eustus, VA. After their service, they settled in Hingham, MA, where they married, started a family, and raised their four children.

A pillar of her community, Judy coached Softball and basketball for Hingham GALS. She was an avid reader, known to read a book a night, and a passionate animal lover who cared for all the classroom pets each summer. She was a constant presence at the hockey rinks on weekends and often joked that the cold kept her wrinkles away. Above all, Judy cherished her role as a matriarch, helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses:

Shawn Griffin of Hingham, MA
Timothy Griffin and wife Lisa Griffin of Londonderry, NH

She leaves behind ten grandchildren (Matthew Sheehan, Stefanie Sheehan, Patrick Dempsey, David Griffin, Beau Amonte, Gwyneth Amonte, Sydney Amonte, Alyssa Griffin, Ryan Griffin, and Jack Griffin) and three great-grandchildren (Chase, Brayden, and Rory).

Judy is also survived by her brother, Thomas "Ben" Holt and his loving partner Trell Garman, and her sister-in-law, Mary L. Libby. She was preceded in death by her siblings Jackie Austin and James Holt.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Hospice, 647 Falmouth Hwy, Falmouth MA 02450.
