Judith Rae "Judy" Herda passed away peacefully visting family on Sept 3, 2025, in Seattle, Washington at the age of 90.

Born in Towner, North Dakota, to Vivian (Hardie) and Graham VanCamp, Judy grew up helping on her aunt's farm and in her family's movie theater. 1953 Valedictorian of Towner High School, she later earned her certification in Radiology.

In 1955, Judy married the love of her life, Florian Herda, beginning 65 years of marriage grounded in faith, family, and service. Settling in Spokane Valley in 1962, she became an active member of St. John Vianney Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer.

Her compassion extended throughout the community with the Spokane AIDS Network, Feed Spokane, Catholic Charities, and hospice care. As Director of Meals on Wheels, she believed everyone deserves nourishment and dignity. Judy also worked as a Nanny, and supported the homeless, immigrants, and families in need.

Judy is survived by her sister Edith Wagar; six sons Timothy, Jeffery (Tracey Taylor), Gregory (Rhea Devera), Jeremy, David (Valerie), and Daniel (Stephen Mellander); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A memorial Mass and inurnment will be held Friday, Oct 24, 2025 at 11AM, St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Spokane Valley.
