Judith Hicks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cagle Funeral Home - Jasper on Jul. 30, 2025.
With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Judith Vosseller Hicks, who passed peacefully at home. Born on August 13, 1941, in Summit, New Jersey, to the late Mr. John Vosseller and Elaine Pierce. Judy lived a life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys. Her compassion, creativity, and boundless warmth touched the lives of those who knew her. Judy retired from the Cherokee County Board of Education where she worked in the administrative offices for 28 years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, scrapbooking, and collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially when all the grand and great-grandchildren gathered filling the house with love and laughter. A faithful and active member of the Jasper Seventh Day Adventist Church, Judy thrived in Bible study and found deep spiritual strength in her beliefs. She enjoyed teaching kids about Jesus and seeing them grow in their walk of faith. Her heart and home were always open to those needing to talk, a bed to sleep in, or a good meal. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Arvil Hicks; her children, Carole (Michael) Womack, David Hicks, and Kent Hicks; her grandchildren, Heather (Zach) Hibbs, Ashley (Micah) Smith and Amanda Hicks; her great-grandchildren-Courtney Jones, Alyssa Jones, Katelyn Jones, Amelia Smith, Townsend Smith, and Baylor Smith; and her sister, Elaine (Danny) Horton. Judy's life was a tapestry of faith, family, and laughter. Her legacy is one of strong faith and unconditional love, and she will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. May her memory forever be a blessing. A Celebration of Life for Judith will be held at the Ellijay SDA Church on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at two o'clock in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers the donations may be made to Jasper SDA Church Food Pantry. Cagle Funeral Home is proud to serve the Hicks family in this difficult time.
