Judith Howard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Midlothian Funeral Home on Dec. 15, 2025.
Judith Anne Howard, fondly known as Judy, departed this world on December 12, 2025, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire and touch the hearts of many. Born to Chesley and Janie Ralston on October 18, 1941, in Waxahachie, Texas, Judith was a spirited woman who loved life and lived it to its fullest. Her ambitious nature was evident in her pursuit of education and her career as a Teacher included teaching in Texas, Arkansas and Tennessee, ending her teaching career at Waxahachie High School, where she was recognized as the WISD Teacher of the Year. Her reliable presence in the classroom shaped countless young minds during her tenure, a testament to her commitment and dedication.

Judy's creative side shone through in her varied hobbies which ranged from reading, stitching, crochet, knitting, to stained glass, gardening, and home restoration. Her love for preserving history was evident in her involvement with several historical societies, including the Ellis County Historical Board, the Midlothian Historical Advisory Board, and the Midlothian Area Historical Society. As an active member of the Eastern Star, DAR, and Alpha Delta Pi, she made significant contributions to her community, reflecting her vibrant spirit and her keen interest in civic engagement.

Judith's heart held a special place for her family and the historical significance of her town. Her love story with her beloved husband, Ted Howard, began on July 20, 1963, and they created a beautiful life together in Midlothian, Texas. She is survived by her husband Ted, her sons Todd Howard, and Timothy Howard, and his wife, Nancy. Her legacy also continues through her grandchildren Jonathan, Brittany, and Catherine Howard, her granddaughter-in-law, and her great-grandson, Jack. She is also survived by her sisters Jeanne Ray and Jennel Sanders. She was predeceased by her parents, Chesley and Janie Ralston.

Judith's life was a testament to her spirited nature, her ambition, her creativity, and her reliability. She was a beacon of light to her family, friends, students, and community. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her. We kindly encourage friends and family to share their memories and upload photos of Judy on the memorial page. Her stories and memories will continue to inspire us all.
