Judith Diane "Judy" Klovstad

Judith D. (Peterson) Klovstad, 85, was called home by her Heavenly Father, on December 5, 2025, in Murphy, North Carolina. She was surrounded by her family who loved her dearly.

She entered this world March 12, 1940, as the youngest child of Roy and Haldis Peterson, from Minot, North Dakota. On September 19, 1960, she married David Klovstad, and together they raised 4 wonderful kids: Brenda (Doug) Mahoney, Debbie (Michael) Haag, David (Marsha) Klovstad and Dwight (Stephanie) Klovstad.

Judy treasured time with family most, but her God given calling was that of caregiver to family, friends and anyone in need. She was a loyal Publix employee and beloved Cashier Trainer, retiring from Publix in 1996. She truly cherished chats with co-workers/customers, ensuring everyone knew they were valued. Her yard was her passion project, weed free and picture-perfect, with many plants representing an anthology of friendships.

She is leaving behind David after 65 beautiful years; four children, eight grandchildren, three sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law and 19 nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by Roy and Haldis Peterson; siblings, LaDonna (Tom) Stonerook, James (Yvonne) Peterson, Jerome Peterson and Janice (Jerry) Klimpel; In-laws, George S. and Cecilia Klovstad, James Klovstad and Jim Fischer.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Franklin, North Carolina with Pastor Glenn Rosen officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church, The March of Dimes or by a simple act of kindness to a person in need.
