Judith Leibold Mabry

1939 - 2024

Judith Leibold Mabry of Glen Allen, VA departed this life on October 8, 2024. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 21, 1939. Mrs. Mabry was preceded in death by Harry Mabry, her beloved husband of forty-three years. She was predeceased by her parents Doris Hartmann Leibold and Edward Paul Leibold, and her sister Jean Leibold Padgett. Mrs. Mabry graduated from Northside High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and from the University of Alabama where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority, Phi Beta Kappa, and served as president of Mortar Board. She moved to Anniston, AL in 1969 when her husband became the first manager of WHMA-TV, Channel 40. In Anniston Mrs. Mabry was a member of Maskers Club, Revelers Krewe, the Tuesday Sewing Club, Matrons Study Club, Friends. Inc. and the Five O'Clock Club. She was also a member of the Junior League of Anniston- Calhoun, which recognized her as Sustainer of the Year in 2010. She was a member of the Single Dozen Supper Club, and served on the board of C.A.S.T. Mrs. Mabry, a life-long Episcopalian, belonged to Grace Church of Anniston where she served on the Altar Guild for more than thirty years. She moved to Glen Allen, VA in 2014 to be closer to family, especially her granddaughter. Mrs. Mabry is survived by her son Mark Hudson Mabry and his wife Paula, of Glen Allen, Virginia, her son Christopher Charles Mabry of Atlanta, and her granddaughter Sydney Hartmann Mabry of Austin, Texas. A graveside service will be held in the Memorial Garden of Grace Church in Anniston, AL on Oct 26 at 11:00 am. The family will have a visitation in the King Parlor at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Grace Episcopal Church, Anniston or to a favorite charity.
