Judith Ann Mazzarelli October 28, 1942 – May 12, 2025
Judith “Judy” Ann Mazzarelli, 82, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 12, 2025.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 28, 1942, Judy was the daughter of the late James and Agnes Weighill. A lifelong lover of music, she studied piano for many years and often credited her swift 100-words-per-minute typing skills to her musical training. Judy graduated from Lourdes High School in Chicago in 1960.
Following high school, she began her career as a secretary for Sears Roebuck. She later joined AMOCO, where she worked for many years and rose to a position in sales. It was during her time at AMOCO that she met the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Mazzarelli. Together, they shared 41 wonderful years.
Judy and Tony began their life together in Roswell, Georgia, later relocating to St. Louis, Missouri, before returning to Georgia and settling in Canton. There, they built their dream home and a life rich with friendship, laughter, and travel.
An avid traveler, Judy also enjoyed dancing, golfing, bowling, and spending time with her many friends and family. She was known for her honesty, generosity, and kind spirit. You could always count on Judy — her straightforward nature and warmth made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Tony, and her stepchildren: Dyann Koterba (Dan) of Roswell, GA; Maureen McInnis (Pat) of Suwanee, GA; Carla Flack (Wes) of Clovis, CA; and Jim Mazzarelli (Shanna) of Chicago. She was affectionately known as “Ju Ju” to her eight grandchildren: Hannah, Miranda, Henry, Kendrick, Sean, Lilly, Patricia, Michael and two great grandchildren: Ava and Emma. She is also survived by many loving cousins and extended family.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 21st at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 490 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock, GA 30188. A light lunch and time for fellowship will follow in the church’s Family Life Center until 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Judy’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/givehope.
