Judith Meyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Plover Funeral Home on Feb. 5, 2026.
Judith "Judy" Ann Meyer, of Plover, passed away January 31, 2026, with her children by her side at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, at the age of 73.

Judy was born March 16, 1952, in Stevens Point, WI; daughter of the late Stanley and Marcia (Helbach) Turzinski. She was the oldest of 11 children who all grew up on the family farm in Plover. Judy fondly remembered the farm as a fun, active place; except for when she had to help make pickles. Judy attended local schools and graduated from Almond High School.

Following high school, Judy went on to Mid State where she earned an associates degree in accounting. While she held a couple other various jobs, the majority of her career was spent at Sentry Insurance where she used her accounting degree as a customer accounting and billing specialist. Judy retired in 2017, after 30 years with the company. Along with working outside the home, Judy was a dedicated mother to two children, Billie and Jason.

Judy had a creative talent and genuinely enjoyed many kinds of crafts, with her favorites being quilting and ceramics. In fact, many of her ceramic creations reside in homes throughout Wisconsin.

Judy was a strong-willed and independent woman who loved her family fiercely. She absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren and her puppies. In more recent years, she began dedicating time to her siblings with occasional brunch or breakfast dates with them. She enjoyed strengthening her relationship with them and sharing many laughs.

Judy is survived by her children, Billie (Doug) Riske and Jason (Phyllis Brandenburg) Meyer; her beloved canine fur-baby, Cody; her grandchildren, Kailey Brandenburg and Hayley and Michael Riske; and her great-grandchildren, Kai, Maddi, Jolene and Ella. She is further survived by her siblings, Rog (Laura Krist) Turzinski, Don (Deb) Turzinski, Louise (George) Sankey, Dan (Leanne) Turzinski, Pat Turzinski, Mary Turzinski, Audrey (Charlie) Warzynski, Ken (Sue Chekouras) Turzinski, Diane "Annie" Turzinski, and Linda (Jeff) Wepner; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Marcia; her beloved canine fur-baby, Snoopy; and her grandson, Nicholas.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Aspirus Palliative Care team in Wausau for the exceptional care and support given to Judy and her family. They would also like to thank Judy's dialysis nurse, Becky, from DaVida.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Shuda Plover Funeral Home - 2400 Plover Road, Plover. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Shuda Funeral Chapel is honored to be assisting the family.
