Judith Miskell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home - Bath on Jun. 5, 2023.
Freeport - Judith Walker Miskell, February 23, 1936 - June 4, 2023, of Freeport, ME, died after a long period of physical and mental decline inflicted on her by dementia.
Judy was adopted as an infant in New York City by her parents Guy Warren Walker and Nancy Vose Walker of Beverly, Massachusetts. She was raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts and attended Shore Country Day School in Beverly before graduating from St. Timothy's School in Stevenson, MD in 1954. She attended Briarcliff College graduating in 1956, before going onto Boston University and graduating in 1958 with a degree in Physical Therapy.
Judy was extremely athletic, ever the prankster, an experienced gardener and an excellent cook who enjoyed caring for family and others. Judy was happily married to Terry Fay Miskell until his death in 2005. Avid travelers, Judy and Terry moved their family to Greece for three years in the mid-70's, exploring Europe and Turkey in the family's VW camper. Upon their return to Massachusetts, Judy dedicated herself to caring for her children all studying at separate schools, traveling hours to sporting events and other school activities. Once Judy and Terry retired to Maine in 1996 after two years living in Taiwan, Judy dedicated much of her time to volunteering at the Freeport Community Center where she served on the Board.
Survived by her three children, Stephanie Miskell and her husband Mark Lickus, Warren Miskell, and Whitney Miskell and her spouse Hollis Phillips, Judy was very proud of her four grandchildren: Wesley and Susannah Lickus and Ellis and Grier Burgoon Miskell.
A memorial service in honor of Judy's life will be held on July 15, 2023 at 2PM at the South Freeport Congregational Church 98 South Freeport Road, South Freeport, ME.
