Massena—Judith A. “Judy” Mowel, 70, formerly of Ogdensburg, ended her earthly journey peacefully at her son Joe’s home early Monday morning, December 22, 2025.
She was born on August 8, 1955, to the late Robert & Betty Craig and was a graduate of Lisbon Central School.
She married Gerald LeClair, and they lived on Ogden Street in Ogdensburg for over 30 years until his passing in 1993. She later married Alan E. Mowel, who died on March 26, 2020.
Judy is survived by her children, Joseph LeClair of Massena and Jimmie (Denise) LeClair of Gouverneur; her grandchildren, Jayda Tarbell of Massena, Isabelle Klaus-Wiley, Garret LeClair, and Lincoln LeClair; her sister, Myra Craig of Ogdensburg; and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Judy was an active member of the Massena Baptist Church. She enjoyed sitting on her back deck, drinking Mountain Dew, and watching the birds and squirrels. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Per her wishes, her services will be held privately by her family.
