Judith V. (Vohr) Niles of Raynham, passed away on April 21, 2023. Born in
Lee, Massachusetts, Judy first attended Miss Hall's Boarding School and then Barnard College, remaining a proud alumnus of both throughout her life. Judy was an educated and talented musician on piano and organ and as well as a vocalist. Her musical career included long standing organist positions at St. Thomas Church and Pilgrim Church, both of Taunton, and First Congregational Church of Raynham but she could also be found substituting at many local churches. She spent many years teaching music in the Bridgewater Raynham School District and offering piano lessons from her home. In addition to serving as the organist, Judy held roles at First Congregational Church that included being a Member, Clerk, Choir Director, Women's Fellowship, and Church Council. When Judy wasn't sharing her musical talents, she was sharing her time as an avid volunteer and joiner. Judy was a member of the American Guild of Organists, Morton Hospital Auxiliary, Raynham Historical Society, Raynham Cultural Council, Taunton Garden Club, Bridge Club and was a Friend of the Raynham Library. She was a Boston Symphony Orchestra season ticket holder and especially enjoyed concerts in Tanglewood. Her membership with the Edgewood Club in Raynham brought her joy in the form of swimming, tennis, and great friendship. In the comfort of her home, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) L. Niles. Devoted mother of Kathryn Seekell and her late husband David Hill of Holliston, David Niles and his wife Laurie of Colorado, Andrew Niles and his wife Sharon of Raynham and Suzanne Lopes and her husband George of Raynham. Loving sister of Fritz Vohr and his wife Patricia of Shelburne Falls, Tom Vohr and his wife Meg of New Hampshire, and sister-in-law Betty Vohr of Rhode Island. Cherished "Juju" of 13 grandchildren and 1 (soon to be 2) great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, May 1st from 4-7 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 2nd at 11 AM at First Congregational Church (The Stone Church) in Raynham.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Street Cemetery in Raynham.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Judy may be made to the First Congregational Church (The Stone Church), 785 South Main Street, Raynham, MA 02767.
