Judith A Pease was called home at the age of 91 on Oct 1, 2024. Judith was born September 1,1933, in Middletown, CT to the late Harold & Dorothea (Mead) Allen.
She was a graduate of East Hampton High School, class of 1951, and then went on to Bay Path Community College, where she earned her degree as an Administrative Secretary
.Judith was employed at Trinity Church in Hartford, before relocating to Columbus Ohio where she was Secretary to the Minister of First Community Church. She returned to East Hampton in 1960 and married Daniel H Pease Jr and raised a family of 3 children.
Judy loved adventure, taking her 1st solo trip from CT to California at the age of 18. She returned often to the West Coast and Hawaii. After marriage, she enjoyed taking her children all over New England tracing her family's genealogy, on yearly vacations trips to Sarasota, and then later spent her winters in West Palm Beach.
She became an international traveler after going on a cruise up the Rhine River with her daughter in the 80's and was forever hooked. She made numerous trips back to Europe and Australia.
Judith was an accomplished pianist from her early teens. She enjoyed playing Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven for family and friends into her 80's. Her love of music also included violin concertos and seeing Andrea Bocelli in concert.
When Judy was not traveling or playing piano, you would find her watching every major golf tournament. Her favorite being the Muirfield Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio where she volunteered for over 12 years, while living in Ohio from 1988 - 2019. She also loved to watch Nadal & Federer battle it out on the courts.
In 2019 Judith came back to Connecticut to attend her granddaughter's wedding and be nearer to her family. She resided in Glastonbury until 2023 before locating to Cobalt to be closer to her daughter.
Judith was predeceased by her brother Richard Allen, sister Mary Ann Barton and son Mark Pease.
Judith is survived by her daughter Betsy (Pease) Kissinger of East Hampton, son Danile H Pease Ill of Northford, grandchildren Brittany (Troy) Shumbo & Sean (Lynette) Doran and the light of her life most recently Great granddaughter Mira Shumbo. She is survived by other extended family members and will be deeply missed by her relatives in Ohio, and her dear friend of 77 years Lee Burnham and husband Dick of East Hampton.
Judy will be remembered as a beautiful, vibrant and devoted loving mother, grandmother and great gramma known as Mimi.
Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Cobalt Healthcare and Accent Hospice Care who provided her with loving care throughout her final year.
Burial will be private per Judith's requests.
