Judith Ann Pelant of Bloomingdale, IL passed away November 3, 2024, at 83 years old. She was born to Wayne Harold Proctor and Gladys Marie Procter (Goecker) in Omaha, Nebraska on May 24, 1941. At an early age her family moved to Los Angeles. Judy went through the Los Angeles school system and attended Dorsey High School. She later settled in Inglewood with her new daughter.
Judy met Barney while she was working at the Automobile Club of Southern California as a Claims Adjuster. She asked Barney to her annual Christmas Party, and they have been together ever since. In 1970 they moved to the Chicago Suburbs with her daughter Dalina Lynn following Barney's graduation from U.S.C. Judy and Barney were later married at the Lombard Church of the Nazarene in Lombard, IL on May 23, 1970.
After her move to the Chicago Suburbs she found that the Claims Adjuster field was male dominated and unavailable to women. So, in 1970 she joined Hercules, Inc, as a sales order, logistics and administrator for their Radiant Fluorescent Coated Papers and Pigments division. Continuing her appreciation for artwork, she later joined the Great Frame Up as a frame maker for fine artwork and collectables until she retired in 2001.
In 1974 their only child Nicole Marie was born. One of Judy's greatest joys was supporting Nicole's ice-skating endeavors. Additionally, Judy thoroughly enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling especially cruises, and being a loving Wife and Mother.
Judy follows in death her older brother Jerry Proctor (1998) and her daughter Dalina Lynn (2023). She will be sorely missed by her husband of fifty-four years, her daughter Nicole Marie (Eric Jushka), eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. May she rest in eternal peace. A celebration of her life will be held at Mission Church in Bloomingdale on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 6:00pm.
