Judith A. "Guthrie" Pinard

AYER: Judith A. (Guthrie) Pinard, 85, of Ayer, passed away on Monday morning, September 15, 2025 in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Her husband, James B. Pinard, died in February 2019. Judy was born in Ayer, October 1, 1939, the daughter of John C. and Marion F. (Friedrich) Guthrie and was a lifelong Ayer resident. She was a 1957 graduate of Ayer High School and continued her education at St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in Lowell where her focus of study was Medical Technician. For over twenty years Judy worked in the Financial Department at Nashoba Nursing & Hospice Service in Shirley. She retired in 2004. Judy was a member and daily communicant at St. Nicholas Parish formerly St. Mary's in Shirley & Ayer. She served the faithful in the community as a Eucharistic Minister and was awarded the Cheveaux Award from the Archdiocese of Boston for her outstanding commitment to Catholic Ministries. Judy possessed a deep love for her family and friends. But above all an ever-lasting love for her Lord and Savior. She served as a hospice volunteer at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton as well as Apple Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Ayer. For over 30 years Judy also served as the Massachusetts State Appointee to the Ayer Housing Authority. She leaves three sons, James B. Pinard, Jr. and his wife, Marie of Ayer, Mark A. Pinard, Matthew J. Pinard and his wife, Laura all of Lunenburg; her daughter and son in law, Lisa and Eric Richard of Ayer; her brother and sister in law, John C. and Cathy Guthrie of Shirley; eleven grandchildren, James B. Pinard III, Joshua S. Pinard, Jillian Valeri, Benjamin Richard, Nicholas Richard, Elizabeth Rivera, Madison Pinard, Jonathan Pinard, Jake Pinard, Nicholas Marino and Emily Marino; seven great grandchildren, James B. "JB" Pinard IV, Evan Pinard, Jaxson Pinard, Jasper Pinard, Charlotte Valeri, Lorenzo Rivera and Josie Davidson. She was predeceased by her daughter in law Kassie Pinard of Lunenburg. Judy's family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours on Sunday, September 21, from 2 to 5PM at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road (Rte 2A) Ayer. www.andersonfuneral.com. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 22, at 11AM in St. Mary's Church, 29 Shirley St., Ayer. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Ayer.
