Judith Ries Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Serenity Funeral Home of Bluffdale on Jan. 5, 2026.
Judith Pauline Cline Ries, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025. Judith was born on June 4, 1940, in Fort Benton, Montana, to Ella Mae and Lloyd Cline, who predeceased her. She later met Robert Ries, her true love and soulmate, and they were married on October 9, 1961, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Together, they shared 64 beautiful years of marriage, building a life grounded in love, partnership, and devotion. Their wedding vows were later blessed in the Catholic Church.

Judith was a sparkling, spicy addition to any situation. Always impeccably dressed, she made sure her family was just as polished. A true foodie, Judith was an exceptional cook and gracious hostess, delighting in bringing people together around beautifully prepared meals. Every detail of every gathering was thoughtfully tended to-colorful, intentional, and infused with her unmistakable charm. Dinner was on time sometimes-but more often than not, it was delayed because everyone was busy visiting, laughing, and refilling the vegetable tray.

Grandma Judy couldn't resist a delicious recipe or a beautiful cookbook. All of Grandma's food was

filled with love and good intentions-and sometimes it even provided a good laugh as well. Judith is survived by her loving and devoted family, including her husband, Robert Ries of Cottonwood Heights, Utah; daughters Kelle Ries of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, Kim Komar (deceased), Susan McNulty of Draper, Utah; grandchildren Christopher and Jen Tacke of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Bridget-Kate McNulty of Washington, D.C.; Delaney and Shane O'Connell of Tonawanda, New York; Abigail McNulty of Draper, Utah; Katie McNulty Fowler of Peachtree City, Georgia; precious and beloved great-grandsons Jameson, Ryland, and Wyatt Tacke of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and O'Malley Tacke of Colorado.

She is also survived by her sisters Karen Frazier and Shelley Flegel and their families; her brothers

Larry Cline and Gary Cline (both predeceased); her beloved cousin Robin O'Rhiner and her son Justin of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her best friends Donna Mae Graham and family of Fort Benton, Montana, and Verla Peterson and family of West Jordan, Utah.

A Funeral Mass will be held on January 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior to the Mass from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 East Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84093.
