Judith Roach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson Funeral Home - El Reno on Nov. 2, 2024.
Judith Margaret (Huddart) Roach stepped from her earthly life to begin her eternal life in heaven on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Judith was known by many as Judy, Mom, Grandma, Oma, Mrs. Roach, and Momma Roach. She was born to Raymond T. and Marion (Alder) Huddart in Oklahoma City on August 14, 1935. The Huddart family moved to El Reno when Judy was a small child. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of El Reno where she taught children's Sunday School for many years and Vacation Bible School. Judy attended El Reno Public Schools, where she met Robert W. Roach. Bob and Judy were married in 1952 and had two sons, Mike, and Alan. They remained their entire married life in El Reno raising their sons and enjoying life. Devoting time to her family was extremely important to Judy, lasting four generations. Bob worked in the automotive industry while Judy primarily provided for her family as wife, mother, and homemaker. Once the boys were older, she began working at Thompson's Gifts and Bookstore where she enjoyed assisting young women with their bridal registries. In the mid 1970's, she began working at El Reno Highschool as a teacher's aide and retired in 1995 as the Registrar. Being at the high school while her grandchildren where students was one of her greatest joys. After retirement, Bob and Judy enjoyed 58 years of marriage until Bob's passing in December of 2010.
Judy is survived by her sons, Mike (Phyllis) and Alan (Sherry) of El Reno, her grandchildren Amelia (Shawn) Hood of El Reno, Zak (Mandee) Roach of Oklahoma City, and Ashley Abshire of El Reno. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Ty (J.J.) Hood and Tanner (Lita) Hood, Kaylan (Bo) Bebout, Ella Roach, and Cohen and Jace Abshire; great-great grandchildren Sanger, Clayton and Warren Hood, and Lyla and Hattie Hood; brother-in-law Clifford Ozmun of Washington, IL and sister-in-law Margaret Roach Wheeler (Glen) of Sulphur, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband Bob, and her grandson Adam Roach, her parents, sisters Joanne (Don) Newman, and Janet Ozmun, in-laws Diamond and Rubey Roach and sister-in-law Lawanda (Orville) Roach McVey.
A private family celebration will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024, with Rocky Carter officiating. Services are under the direction of Wilson's Funeral Home, where there will be a viewing held Monday, November 4, 2024, from 10:00am-8:00pm.

I worked with Judy at Thompson“s. She "trained" me. Her sense of humor was grand. A lovely person.
My condolences.
