CORDELE - Judith "Judy" Ann Slade, age 76, died early Wednesday morning, June 11, 2025, at her residence. There will be a private graveside service for family at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Judy, born in Cordele, Georgia, was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Slade, Jr. and the late Lessie Estelle Speight Slade. Her brother, Tommy Slade, also preceded his sister in death.
For 27 years, Judy dedicated her career to serving the community as the director of Phoenix House at Middle Flint Health & Wellness. She was a member of the Cordele First Baptist Church, where she was also baptized. In her free time, Judy loved playing Bridge and Solitaire, as well as reading her Bible. Known for her culinary skills, she delighted friends and family with her cooking. Judy had a special bond with her grandson and adored her dogs throughout the years. Her generous spirit and loving heart of gold will be deeply missed, leaving behind a legacy of love.
Judy is survived by her children Edward Franklin Fenn, Jr. of Cordele, Lessie (Bobby) Wade of Arabi, Ga. and Thomas Ross Fenn of Cordele, her sister Jarrett Slade (Joe) Hooks of Cobb, Ga., and her grandson Jackson Wade. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Rob, Rosemary, Angel, Kathleen, Joe, Stephanie, Matthew, and Rebecca as well as numerous grand-nieces and great-nephews.
The family suggests that donations in memory of Judy be made to Community First Foundation, 125 W Lamar Street, 4th Floor, Americus, Georgia 31709.
