Memorial Mass for Judith “Judy” Lee Stockman, 82, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, with a rosary recited at 10:30 a.m. prior to the mass. Judy died on October 11, 2025, at Star Living in Lawrence.

She was born on September 10, 1943, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of John B. and Alexina Jessie (Watt) Heim.

She was an LPN and worked at the VA Hospital in Topeka for 25 years.

She loved her dogs and spending time with family; she enjoyed drinking coffee with friends and relatives.

She married Joseph Stockman in 1961, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Marilyn Landon and nephew Brian Landon.

Survivors include her brother, Mike and Linda Heim, Lawrence; seven nieces and nephews, Bruce Landon, Daniel Heim, Maria Herzog, Laura Heim, Janie Doll, Breanna Mercer, Jacqueline Heim; fourteen great nieces and nephews, Wendell, Jeremy, Luke, Miranda, Samuel, Ameila, Ethan, Eliza, Sabrina, Marianna, Avila, Henry, Helen, Dianna and great-great niece, Navy.

The family suggests memorials in Judy’s name to Star Living or Interim Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
