Judith Anne Farmer Strickland, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in West Virginia on July 15, 1944, to the late Ray Edward and Virginia Tolbert Farmer. Judith will be remembered for her vivacious personality and the love she had for life. She loved to learn, whether that be through an informational show, through the many books she indulged in, or keeping her mind sharp by solving puzzles. She also enjoyed listening to music and was considered a professional thrifter - it would be difficult to name a thrift store she hadn’t been in. Judith carried warm energy with her and lit up every room she walked into. She loved her family more than anything and passed along her sense of humor to her children and grandchildren. Judith was young at heart and had a habit of taking care of everyone around her. She cared for others professionally as a nurse for several years but continued to be her family’s rock until she was no longer physically able. From family to animals, she dedicated herself to those around her. She will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Judith is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Lee Strickland; a grandson, Jacob Neff; as well as a brother, Curtis Ray Farmer.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Angela Saunders, Pamela Strickland Matthews (John), and Heather Strickland Harmon (James); 7 grandchildren Joshua Saunders, Amanda Snyder, Erica Esslinger, Lauren Esslinger-Albright, Jared Rodriguez-Cayro, James Harmon, and Jordan Harmon; 13 great-grandchildren Emerson Saunders, Aidan Esslinger, Freyja Uber, Amelia Morrison, Damien Rodriguez-Cayro, Salem Rodriguez-Cayro, Oliver Rodriguez-Cayro, Braelyn Harmon, James Kingston Harmon, Alek Albright, Atticus Albright, Liam LaValley, and Lucas Albright; as well as a brother, Jerry Wayne Farmer I.

There are no formal services at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society at 4881 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
