Judith "Judie" Ann (Mattingly) Turner, 84, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Walnut Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center.
Judie was born in Evansville, Indiana on February 5, 1941 to the late William and Mary (Hofmann) Mattingly. She graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1959 where she played tennis. Judie and her late husband, Jerry, founded Turoni's Pizza in 1963. The two of them enjoyed antiquing and decorating Turoni's with their antique finds. In her free time, Judie liked to bowl, tend to her flower garden, and play cards. Most of all, Judie loved her family. She passionately supported her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors. Judie will always be remembered for her fierce spirit, kind heart, and selfless generosity.
Judie is survived by her daughters, Lydia Mueller (Brad) and Terri Calhoun; son, Tom Turner (Jennifer); brothers, Randy Mattingly (Melissa), Michael Mattingly (Rhonda), and Don Mattingly (Lori); grandchildren, Seth Mueller, Katherine Barker (Alex), Jaci Rowland (Brack), Laine Mand (Evan), Nicholas Calhoun (Natalie), and Chloe Mankin (Sam); great-grandchildren, Leo Barker, Olive Mand, Edy and Ernie Rowland, Parker and Weston Calhoun, and Maverick and Stella Rose Mankin; several nieces and nephews; and cousin and caregiver, Hazel Rodrigues.
Judie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry Turner; parents; and brother, Jerry Mattingly.
A celebration of Judie's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9:00 am until service time on Friday.
The family would like to especially thank Judie's cousin and caregiver, Hazel Rodriques, for her compassionate and loving care over the last several years.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
