Judith Ann Van Guilder (née Solem), born on October 15, 1946, in Duluth, Minnesota, to John and Laura Solem, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. At the age of 78, Judith departed this world surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew her.
Judith is survived by her devoted husband, Lloyd Van Guilder; their children Jamie Van Guilder, Teresa Van Guilder, and Keith Van Guilder; and her siblings Gerald Solem, Dennis Solem, and Peggy Thompson. She was also a proud grandmother to Joey Johnson, Jason Johnson, Amanda Ross, Brooke Van Guilder, Mackenna Van Guilder, Kyle Ossefoort, Madison Ampoe, Matthew Van Guilder, Caden Van Guilder, and Khloe Van Guilder. Judith was predeceased by her two beloved children, Tammy Ossefoort and Todd Van Guilder.
Throughout her life, Judith found immense joy in cooking and spending time with family. Her kitchen was often filled with the aroma of lovingly prepared meals that brought people together and created moments of warmth and connection. These gatherings were a testament to her unwavering dedication to family and her ability to nurture relationships across generations. Her love for family was evident in every dish she prepared and every moment she shared with those she held dear.
Beyond her immediate family, Judith's compassion extended to many other as she and Lloyd opened their hearts as foster parents for many years. Their selfless dedication left an enduring impact on the lives they touched.
A funeral service to honor Judith's life will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wade Funeral Home located at 4150 W Pioneer Parkway in Arlington, Texas.
Judith Ann Van Guilder will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to those she leaves behind.
