Judy Ann Peery Anderson, 80, retired educator and a lifelong resident of Maury County, died Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Troy Dugger and Bro. Rick Elsey officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Judy was born on March 27, 1945 in Maury County, TN to the late Andrew Jackson “Jack” Peery and the late Izora Wise Peery. On June 14, 1981 she married a wonderful Christian man, Curtis Anderson, who preceded her in death on May 27, 2016.
She graduated from Culleoka High School in 1963, received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1968 from Middle Tennessee State University, Master’s Degree in 1976 from Middle Tennessee State University, Master’s Degree plus 45 in 1981 from MTSU-Trevecca-Belmont. Judy was the Family and Consumer Science Teacher at Mt. Pleasant High School for 32 years and Advisor for the Future Homemakers of America for many years. She said her greatest accomplishments was her love for her family, her church, former students, her career in education, and her friends. She was a long time member of West End Baptist Church.
Survivors include her brother in law W.C. Johnson; nine nieces and nephews, Melanie Harris Jordan (Ken), Ronnie Harris (Becky), Kevin Rose (Lisa), Nathan Peery (Elizabeth), Jeff Harris (Dana), Cam Johnson (Becky), Angela Morgan (Vince), Byron Peery (Robyn), and Regina Peery; several great nieces and nephews, and several great great nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers to her and the family, Valarie Gant, Tracey Cozey, Jackie Davis, Carolyn Davis, and Beverly Moore.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Hugh “Sonny” Peery; sisters, Imogene Peery Harris, Lequita Peery Rose, and Geraldine Peery Johnson; nephew, Marcus Peery, great nephew Brent Jordan.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Harris, Kevin Rose, Nathan Peery, Jeff Harris, Cam Johnson, Byron Peery, and J.D. Lineberry.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Morning Pointe of Columbia, Maury Regional Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center and Dr. Cummins Couch.
